Understanding the Secret World Mission System

Have you just landed your hands on a copy of The Secret World but am overwhelmed by the gameplay and how it is so different from so many other games that are out there? Many of you who have played other type of MMORPG games such as Diablo III and World of Warcraft might be surprised the first time you touch the Secret World – for unlike Diablo III or WoW, there is not much grinding involved in the Secret World.

The Secret World is completely different – as all you are required to do is to complete various missions with the different kinds of clues that are given. Here are some tips to help you progress faster:

• Only do one particular mission at a time! Just like Maple Story or some other MMORPGs, you may sometimes get more than one mission at a time, but the best is still to complete them systematically rather than try and multi-task and rush through them. 
• You might ask, why? The reason is because when you complete one mission you do not require to go to find a particular NPC to give you the next mission – you can just click the complete mission button and you would be able to get a new mission. This would be able to help you save a lot of time and thus it would make logical sense to complete a series of missions first before tackling the next one.
• Be prepared to use your brain a lot and put on your thinking cap – for certain missions you would even be required to go offline and conduct some research on offline people. Of course you would get some clues along the way but just depending on the clues is not enough – you have to sometimes use your brain and think and it is not always that straightforward.
• Find a friend to play with you – as they always say, two heads are better than one. With another friend, you would be able to help each other out and brainstorm new ideas whenever you get stuck. This is also one of the con of the game without a levelling system – sometimes you can get stuck for ages on a particular mission!
